Training Options for Learning How to Use ECF

You can learn about e-filing via one or more of these options:
--Attending one of our hands-on training classes
--Reading the ECF User Manual for the District of Arizona
--Completing modules from one or both of the generic ECF on-line tutorials
--Practicing e-filing in the ECF USDC-AZ Training Database

Hands-On Training

Hands-on training is provided at the courthouse for attorneys and their staff. The hands-on classes are three hours in length and are available at no charge. These classes will allow you to practice using ECF on a computer in our computer training room. We strongly encourage admitted attorneys to attend one of the sessions. This seminar provides attorneys and their support staff with the knowledge necessary to use the electronic filing system.
Topics to be covered include:
--How to prepare documents for electronic filing
--Practice issues, including: electronic signatures, noticing and retention of original documents and system requirements, what to do with material that cannot be filed electronically
--How to file electronically
--How to receive electronic notice of filings
--How to retrieve electronically filed documents
--What to do if you have difficulties filing electronically

Note regarding CLE Activities:

The State Bar of Arizona does not approve or accredit CLE activities for the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education requirement. However, this activity may qualify for up to 3 hours toward your annual CLE requirement for the State Bar of Arizona.

Practice E-Filing in the ECF USDC-AZ Training Database

Access to the training database is authorized so that ECF users can practice e-filing. Please read all the information on this page before logging into the training database. Additionally, click here for complete instructions.

You may use one of the following login names:

The password for each of those twenty login names is the same:
ecf

  • The letters in the login names and the password must be lower case.
  • Two people cannot use the same login. If someone attempts to use a login already in use, the first user will be bumped out of the system.
  • Do not use your Registered User login or password, as it will not work.
  • Please do not submit any real or sensitive case documents since they can be viewed by the public.
