Notice of Increase in Filing Fees - Effective 12/1/2023
Effective December 1, 2023, certain fees in the District Court Miscellaneous Fee Schedule will increase due to an adjustment for inflation. Notably, the general administrative fee for filing a civil action, suit, or proceeding in a district court will increase from $52 to $55. This fee is in addition to the existing civil filing fee of $350. Therefore, effective December 1, the total filing fee for filing a new civil case will be $405.
The chart below details the increased amounts for the affected district court fees, and the district's Fee Schedule will reflect the adjustments.
The District Court Miscellaneous Fee Schedule was established by the Judicial Conference of the United States, pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1914.
