Why do we spend so much time sitting around before the actual selection process occurs?
While many jurors may feel that waiting is unproductive, this time is often used by the Judge and attorneys on unexpected matters that must be handled outside the presence of the jury. Jurors are welcome to bring readings materials to help pass the time.
Will I serve on a civil or criminal trial?
The Court conducts both civil and criminal cases, but there is no way to know which type of case you will be assigned to until the day they report for service
Will the Court pay for my parking?
Yes. Bring your parking ticket with you to the Courthouse for validation. Click here and select the appropriate location for where to park. If you park in a lot that the Court does not validate, you will need to pay the parking fee, but the cost will be reimbursed. Please notify the jury clerk and you will be provided with a reimbursement form.
Do not park at parking meters. Jury selection lasts longer than the time allowed on the meter, and any ticket issued for expired parking cannot be reimbursed by the Court.
For jurors who stay in a hotel, parking should be itemized on your hotel receipt and will be reimbursed. The Court will not reimburse valet parking if self-parking is available
