The District of Arizona has received several reports from individuals who reside both in our district and abroad who have received a phone call from an individual claiming to be law enforcement. The individual states that the person receiving the phone call has a warrant for their arrest and must pay a certain dollar amount in order to avoid arrest.
The Court or any law enforcement agency will never call an individual to threaten arrest or to request payment over the phone.
If you receive a suspicious phone call similar to the one described above, DO NOT send any personal information or payment to the caller. Please contact the Clerk’s Office at 602-322-7200 (Phoenix) or 520-205-4200 (Tucson) to report such activity.
