Frequently Asked Questions - Naturalization
Is there a dress code for the ceremonies?
Because the ceremonies take place in a courtroom, attendees should dress in a manner appropriate for that environment. Business casual is appropriate. Please remove all sunglasses, hats, and any headwear not worn for religious purposes before entering the courtroom.
Can children attend the ceremony?
Children may attend the ceremony but are not allowed in the balcony area of the Phoenix Courthouse. If a child becomes upset or begins to cry, we ask that you escort them out of the courtroom, so they do not interrupt the proceedings.
Can I bring balloons?
Guests may bring balloons to the ceremony; however, please ensure they do not block other attendees’ view of the proceedings.
Can I bring my cell phone into the courthouse?
Yes, cell phones are permitted in the courthouse, but you will be asked to silence it during the ceremony.

How many guests may I bring?

When the room reaches capacity, individuals standing in front of the doors will be asked to leave to maintain safe and unobstructed access to and from the courtroom.
